2025 Valero Texas Open Golf Betting Odds
𝓡 We’re early with our Valero Texas Open betting tips this year, since the odds aren’t live yet. As soon as we get them, you get them. Drop a bookmark on this page and keep popping back so you don’t miss any update.
Valero Texas Open Betting Tips & Predictions 2025
♛ It might not have made the cut for Signature events on the PGA Tour, but this is easily one of the best weeks of the year from a betting perspective. It doesn’t lack drama – flashback to Akshay Bhatia’s incredible 2024 playoff victory – and there’s been no shortage of long-shot winners. JJ Spaun opened the betting markets at 200/1 before winning in 2020. And who can forget Correy Conners, getting the job done at 175/1 in 2019?
🐲 There’s value to be had this week, so let’s jump into our tips for the Valero Texas Open.
Ludvig Aberg to Win the Valero Texas Open
Ludvig is proving to be a problem this season. The Swede tied fifth at The Sentry and followed this with his first big boy win at The Genesis Invitational𝓡, birdieing four of his last six holes to get home by one. His 2024 numbers also stack up around the Oaks Course: 1st in Strokes Gained Off The Tee and 10th Tee To Green. If Ikea made golfers, Aberg would be the blueprint. He is our NAP for this week's Valero Texas Open tips.
Lucas Glover to Finish in the Top 10
It’s so cool to be writing about the 2009 US Open champ, Lucas Glover, again. He’s turned his career around and has had a solid start to 2025, finishing third at the AT&T Pebble Beach🌌 and T21 at the Sony Open. Two key metrics stand out for Glover: 5th in Driving Accuracy and 33rd for Distance from Edge of Fairway (this is basically the measurement of how far, on average, a player misses the fairway). The narrow fairways are right in Glover’s wheelhouse, highlighted by four top 25 finishes in the last five years here. The quality of the field means a win will be tough, but a top ten finish is absolutely worth a punt.
Maverick McNealy to Finish in the Top 10
Is there a better name on the PGA Tour than this guy? A breakout win in 2024 at the RSM Classic locked in McNealy’s Tour Card for 2025 – and it feels like the shackles are off with a 9th place at the Waste Management, followed by a brilliant second at The Genesis. For the fellow stat nerds, he’s 12th Strokes Gained Total, 41st Tee To Green and 15th Approach this year, making him a great fit for a tricky course setup at TPC San Antonio. Maverick for a top (gun) 10 finish is a shrewd Valero Texas Open betting pick, even if we do say so ourselves.
Additional Valero Texas Open Golf Betting Insights
The best golfers in the world rely on their caddies every week. They do the leg work, carry the bag, get the yardage, rake the bunkers and create the best environment for their employer. Well, that’s exactly what we’re doing for you – minus the manual labour – as we give you all the key players and betting insights to support your own Valero Texas Open tips.
Key Golfers to Watch
🌸 Some of the biggest names in golf are swapping their branding irons for nine irons, with a world-class field confirmed at The Valero. Here are the ones to watch:
Ludvig Aberg
Official World Golf Ranking – 4
ꦑ Barring any late surprises, the Swedish sensation will be the highest-ranked player this week. He’s 25, has a perfect swing, is a multi-winner, has millions of dollars in the bank, hits it miles, handsome… Doesn’t it just make you sick? He gets called a “stud” for a reason and will win buckets of majors. Here’s a little context about just how good he’s been: only Rahm, McIlroy, Morikawa, and Hovland have higher Data Golf ratings in their first 40 PGA Tour starts. We’re talking future world number one here, folks – he’s that good.
Collin Morikawa
Official World Golf Ranking – 5
♉ A winless 2024 doesn’t paint the full picture for Collin Morikawa, with seven top 5 and top 15 finishes, in all four majors, showcasing the Berkley graduate’s class. He’s only played this event once, and it’s fair to say it didn’t go well, ending up DFL over the weekend. But his iron play is out of this world, ranking 10th in 2025, which is a perfect fit given that the last six winners at the Texas Open have ranked 1-1-4-1-1-4 for SG: Approach.
Tommy Fleetwood
Official World Golf Ranking – 10
Another absolute flusher – there’s a theme occurring here. Few players on Tour are more likeable than Fleetwood. Those wavey locks, that wide smile. It’s how golf should be played. But he’s not just the decerning housewife’s favourite, he’s a real talent that has arguably not yet reached his full potential – yet. A solid top ten last year, coupled with good showings in The Genesis (T5) and The Sentry (T22), puts Fleetwood in the mixer. Ranked third and sixth, respectively, for SG: Approach and SG: Tee-to-green in 2025 cements our claims that we aren’t just backing him because he’s one of the good guys, but because he’s a genuine shout this week.
Jackson Suber
Official World Golf Ranking – 190th
🐈 Who? Ok, this is a left-field Valero Texas Open tip, but if you love a long shot, Jackson Suber fits the bill. He heartbreakingly before putting those demons to bed and getting the job done in 2024. He finished T6 at the Sony Open, his first event as a Tour player, and made the cut at the Farmers. The 25-year-old Floridian is a wizard with the irons and is first for SG: Approach and second in SG: Tee To Green. Posting this type of numbers so soon into a pro career is super exciting, and we think he’s tailormade for this tournament and course.
A Deep Dive into TPC San Antonio: Course Analysis for Punters
🔯 TPC San Antonio plays host to the Valero Texas Open. The tournament is the third oldest on Tour, dating back to 1922. It’s now shifted to the Greg Norman-designed Oaks Course, which opened in 2010 and spans 7,435 of the finest desert yards you’ll find anywhere in the world.
🎃 Ranked as the 15th hardest in 2024, The Oaks plays a lot shorter than the numbers suggest. You don’t need to be a bomber to get the dub here, with only one winner in the last seven ranking in the top 15 for Driving Distance.
🔜 Fairways are narrow and relatively forgiving if you’re not too far offline, but if you hit it off the planet, ala Jordan Spieth, you’ve got some nasty cacti waiting as your reward. Who can forget ? The now iconic conversation between Na and his caddie: “How are we going to count all the shots?” “I have no idea”. For a few minutes on that fateful day in April, Na was truly ONE OF US!
❀ Back to the golf. The wind always plays a role, and it’s not uncommon to see 30+mph gusts throughout the week. Take note of the draw and the forecast – mornings are generally calmer than the afternoon, making scoring much easier. The last nine winners have been inside the top 20 after the first round, highlighting that this is not a course that’s easy to chase. A good start is vital and will reflect in the odds for the Valero Texas Open 2025.
Valero Texas Open Prize Money
🍸 This week, the 144-strong field will battle in the desert for a kitty worth $9.5 million. First place will take home $1.71 million, and while not the biggest on Tour, for the lower-ranked players, it can be life-changing. As a non-Signature PGA Tour event, there’s also the added Brucey bonus of 500 FedEx Cup points, crucial for making the season finale Tour Championships.
Valero Texas Open Free Bets & Promotions
💝 If you’re placing a bet on the Valero Texas Open 2025, there’s no better way than combining it with a free bet or a killer promo. We’ve handpicked the best in the business below:

Valero Texas Open Golf Betting Markets
With the huge odds you get for backing those ever-frequent long-shot winners on the PGA Tour, it’s easy to become blinkered by the outright markets for Valero Texas Open betting – but that’s not always where the value is. Here are ten of the best golf betting markets to maximise value this week:
♒ Think you’ve got the minerals to pick the winner from the 144-strong field? The outright winner is all or nothing. High risk, but huge rewards.
🍸 For some added security, select the finishing position in groups. These include the top 5, 10 and 20 places, including ties (dead heat rules will apply).
🌱 If you just want to see your guy play the weekend, the cut line will be top 65 (and ties) after completing the second round. The longer the betting odds for the Valero Texas Open outright winner, the bigger they are when betting on the cut line.
🧸 Choosing the winner's nationality is a good way to include multiple players in a single group. Shoot for a homegrown win or an international group in form.
🉐 If your confidence is stronger than Ian Poulter’s stylist, you can choose how many shots a player will win by and see those Valero Texas open betting odds soar. This includes a range of strokes (1-2, 2-3, 3-4, etc.) or via a playoff and is a great option for short-priced favourites.
🀅 Pick the player who will be leading after the first round. Simple, really.
🎶 Remove the favourite and make the outright winner a more even playing ground. This market was never more popular than during Tiger Woods’ turn of the millennium dominance.
Bet on the player leading all four rounds on their way to victory. Akshay Bhatia completed the feat en route to his impressive win in 2024.
Lessen the variance by picking a winner from a group selected by the bookies. This includes three to five players – you need the player with the lowest four-round score from that group to win.
൩ One of the rarest feats in golf is the elusive albatross. It’s a technical hole-in-one on a par four or down in two on a par five. With three reachable par fives this week, this is one to look out for.
